As of this month’s General Synod, we’re giving up the orb and cross logo we’ve used since 1957 — triumphal, colonial, paternalistic…–in favor of a redesign of the now-familiar UCC Comma — “never put a period where God has placed a comma,” emphasizing God’s ongoing presence and revelation. I’ve got to say I never even heard we were doing this until today…but I’m more than willing to live with it awhile. I was thinking we could make the swoosh more of a wave for a new Maine Conference logo. Comments welcome. lkg
